Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control
Choose Safety P/L can assist employers with the process of:
- identification of workplace hazards
- assessing the "severity" of the inherent risk, and
- determination of additional or appropriate risk controls – using the Hierarchy of Control methodology.
Choose Safety P/L has experience in conducting risk assessments on many different types of plant and machinery, manual handling, confined spaces, working at heights and chemicals. We are able to use your own documentation if you have it, use our own tried and proven templates, or even develop documentation just for your business.
System Review and Auditing
Choose Safety P/L can assist employers to better understand the "health" of their OHS systems by conducting either a full of partial audit of their documented business systems. Conformance with necessary requirements will be fully documented, along with any non-compliance issues that are also identified. Where non-conformances are identified, clear descriptions of the necessary action(s) to correct/address the non-conformances will also be provided.
Innovative Training
Choose Safety P/L can provide a variety of different workplace training, from 1-hour refresher sessions on specific OHS topics of interest, to induction packages for employees and contractors, through to full day training sessions that (may) cover a number of different OHS topics. At Choose Safety P/L we endeavour to make all training interesting and meaningful to the trainees as well as specific to the workplace or industry, and all Choose Safety P/L trainers are fully qualified. Process Improvement and Engineering Design Solutions
Choose Safety P/L can provide practical professional advice in relation to solutions that "Engineer" out the problems or hazards encountered in the workplace. Good engineering solutions remove the potential for the worker to perform an inappropriate/unsafe act and should not make the task harder or slower to perform. It has been shown that there is a positive correlation between good safety and process improvement. Engineering solutions provide a far safer working environment than is provided simply by training and the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Policy and Procedure Writing
Choose Safety P/L can assist employers with the development and implementation of documented workplace policies and procedures, from OHS policies down to shop floor safe work instructions and activity checklists. Choose Safety P/L has a wealth of knowledge and resources to assist with development of your own workplace OHS documentation.
Accident/Incident Investigation and Analysis
When things go wrong, Choose Safety P/L can assist employers with their investigation process by providing impartiality and objectivity when reviewing or reporting on workplace accidents and incidents as well as establishing the root cause(s) of an incident. Choose Safety P/L is also able to conduct analyses of historical workplace incidents, to assist with identifying trends or patterns and planning for future areas of improvement.
