SME Safety Manual

No organisation should be found without a Health and Safety Manual in today's safety conscious business world.

This Manual is compact and perfect for small to medium sized businesses - and at $395 incl GST, it can't be beat for price. For a one-off payment of $395 inc GST you can download it and get started today! Get your OHS under control!

The new harmonisation laws expect company officers (which may be you, your colleague, or your boss) to exercise Due Diligence in work health and safety, but what is it?

Due Diligence is a positive duty, meaning your company is to do all it can to PROVIDE and MAINTAIN a workplace that is safe and without risks to health.

Your organisation can ONLY PROVIDE and MAINTAIN a safe workplace by using a SAFETY MANUAL, as several issues need to be covered:

1. Your OHS Policy is understood and followed

2. Your OHS procedures are followed and are working in the organisation

3. Your OHS Forms, Templates, and Registers are all being used as they should

4. Your hazards are identified and risks controlled

5. Your system is reviewed periodically and in a timely manner

The implications are serious, the penalties are heavy, and they apply in every State and Territory !

A Health and Safety Manual is very special. It encourages a systematic, explicit and comprehensive process for managing safety risks. It can be woven into the fabric of your organisation, and become part of the culture - the way people do their jobs. It outlines what needs to be done to achieve success in OHS.

Conducting toolbox meetings or toolbox talks

Toolbox Talks are a proven and effective way of reminding employees about the importance of safety in their daily tasks:

  • They help your organisation meet its legal Consultation obligations
  • They get general safety as well as the specific Toolbox Talk topic discussed by staff
  • They are mini-training sessions which assist the organisation's efforts in staff development
  • They are an excellent way of getting feedback from staff, which may not normally occur
  • They are far more than just giving staff a piece of paper and asking them to read and sign it!

Once completed, the Toolbox Talk can be placed on the noticeboard for further viewing until you do the next one.

These Toolbox Talks are typically 5-10 minute interactive discussions or meetings on a topical safety issue.

They are designed to be read out by the deliverer. There is no need for the deliverer to worry about having to be someone they are not, such as a safety professional. Just read and discuss, it couldn't be simpler!
