VicRoads with the assistance of the TWU has produced a DVD to assist drivers manage fatigue, and provide information to assist heavy vehicle operators and drivers comply with legal driving hours and working times. VIC - Forklift licence scam ends in Fine and conviction
A 51-year-old man is the second person to face court over a forklift licence testing scam, which has potentially put people at risk. He was fined $9,000 with conviction and ordered to pay costs of $1,692. Click for media release:

VIC - Community organisation fails to help three injured workers

VIC - New Website for Medical Panels
WorkCover Medical Panels now has a website as a resource for injured workers.
Medical Panels operate independently of the Victorian WorkCover Authority. They can be asked to provide an opinion where there is disagreement or uncertainty about aspects of a worker’s injury or condition under worker's compensation.

SA - Worker injured and developer fined after 12-year-old allowed to operate a forklift
A developer was fined $22,400 over an April 2004 incident where an employee suffered a severe foot injury after being struck by a heavy steel trestle which had been knocked off balance. The court was told that the trestle was struck by a forklift driven by the employer’s 12-year-old son.

Two workers crushed in separate concrete panel collapses
Two construction workers from West Australia and South Australia are both lucky to be alive following separate incidents involving concrete panel collapses this week.

Excavator Operator
In the second incident on 22 May a South Australian excavator operator escaped with minor injuries after being freed from under a slab of concrete at a building site at Glenunga in Adelaide's eastern suburbs.
