The safety alert was developed following an incident in which the operator of a concrete-placing boom received an electric shock when the boom came into contact with 22,000-volt overhead power lines. SA: Auto Gas Fitter Fined Over Workmanship
An Adelaide auto gas fitter has been fined $16,800 today for multiple breaches of
regulations regarding LPG conversions on automobiles. Tarek El Halabi pleaded guilty to a total of 14 charges laid under the Dangerous Substances Regulations 2002. These concerned non-compliant work on four vehicles between November 2005 and May 2006.

SA: FINE FOR ANOTHER FORKLIFT INJURY
The dangers of forklifts in the workplace have been highlighted again, following a conviction in the SA Industrial Relations Court. On Monday, a Gawler fruit and vegetable business was fined a total of $21,500 for breaches of workplace safety laws, involving the provision of safe systems of work and keeping written statements on safe work procedures. NT: WorkSafe Officers working to prevent falls
NT WorkSafe officers will visit more than 200 workplaces in Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs during February and March as part of a national campaign to raise awareness of falls prevention in the construction industry.
