BASIC FUNCTION:
The EHS Manager at the Signcraft Group entails National responsibility for the performance of the group in terms of both safety and quality management.
The EHS Manager facilitates the establishment of policy and procedure in both disciplines of quality and safety, implements, monitors, reviews and upgrades as required to ensure total compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Quality : Assesses existing policies and procedures and upgrades as required to establish a current, effective and manageable quality system in accordance with ISO9001.
B. Quality : Implements agreed policies and procedures nationally and in conjunction with production managers and interstate colleagues ensures commitments and compliance of all staff. This will entail some interstate travel.
C. Quality : Reviews all policy and procedure to ensure effective, achievable and practical outcomes. Revises and upgrades process and procedure as required to attain improved business performance through zero/minimal instances of quality non-conformance.
D. Quality : Educates all colleagues on the quality system, its benefits and workings to ensure the across the board understanding.
E. Quality : Focuses upon the instances of non-conformance to establish appropriate corrective action to ensure zero prospect of re-occurrence.
F. Safety : Oversees and maintains the accredited AS4801 management system in both the local and interstate plants.
G. Safety : Provides considered input and opinion as to the most suitable and resource effective options and methods in the context of safety and quality for each client task.
H. Maintains a thorough understanding and a suitable level of control over allocated quality and safety projects.
I. Interfaces effectively with the production team, project team, management teams and administration – actively problem solving and consulting on quality and safety issues.
J. Retains focus on resource cost and usage, minimizing risks and assisting all projects returning acceptable levels of margin to the organization.
K. Attends clients' sites as and if required to assess safety/quality needs. Establishes client/site requirements, issues and obstacles.
L. Balances time effectively between the quality function and safety function of the group.
M. Attends regular project/production meetings as required, adding to and providing quality and safety feedback to production, installation, project and management team members.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
The EHS Manager reports to the National Operations Manager located in Melbourne.

C: Communication Skills.
Quality communication in multiple directions in both written and verbal forms is essential within the management function of The Signcraft Group. The EHS Manager must demonstrate effective and efficient communication skills to critical recipients including :
- All levels of the manufacturing and installation process, locally and interstate
- Clients at multiple levels – local, national and international
- The project management team, both local and interstate
- The business development team
- Senior managers and The Signcraft Group

D. KPI's
The Key Performance Indicators applicable for the measurement of effectiveness of the EHS Manager revolve around core business performance and are in part published in the Marketing Plan in the form of revenue targets, market share growth and profit levels. Others reflect minimum standards of general performance and are summarized as follows :
· Company Earnings before Taxes as measured against Group Sales.
· Adherence to company procedures relating to reporting, QA, OH&S, Vantage and the defined cultural imperatives.
· Level of interactivity and successful cohesion between the OHS&E and Quality Officer, the project management function, production facilities locally and interstate and the senior management group.
· Successful balancing time between the quality function and safety function.
· Demonstration of effective and timely communication at all times.
· Adherence to the defined cultural goals of the Company.
E. REVIEW AND FEEDBACK.
The EHS Manager is assessed, reviewed against Key Performance Indicators and provided opportunity for feedback on a 12 monthly basis, unless informed otherwise. Nominally the review process is undertaken in the period of June / July of any given year.
