WorkSafe is investigating the work-related death of a 53-year-old mechanic at Midland.

The man was believed to have died on Friday while working alone. His body was discovered this morning.

Inspectors travelled to the site and will investigate the circumstances.

WorkSafe thoroughly investigates serious work-related injuries and deaths in WA with a view to preventing future incidents of a similar nature.

WorkSafe WA Commissioner Lex McCulloch said any work-related death was a tragedy, and relayed his sincere condolences to the man’s family.
