Nominations for the 2012 WorkSafe Victoria Awards are now open with WorkSafe calling on people and business who are ‘making a difference’ to enter.
The new online entry system takes just 10 minutes. There are categories for workplace safety, return to work initiatives and workplace health and well-being programs.
”Reflecting the rising interest in social media, people visiting the Awards website can look at details of the entrants and show their support by hitting the ‘like’ button,” WorkSafe Deputy Chief Executive Ian Forsyth said.
“We want to hear from people making big changes and small changes. It all makes a difference and reinforces Victoria’s position of being the safest state in the country.
“The Awards remain a highlight of Work Safe Week in October, and we will also recognise WorkSafe Champions three times per year, to celebrate and encourage a wider range of effort across the community.”
The deadline to enter for the first round of WorkSafe Champions is 31 May.
The Champions, finalists and winners will receive a professional video of their initiative, an official certificate, and a special email sign-off to help promote their entry.
“Workplace safety, excellence in return-to-work programs and health and well-being programs, which are increasingly becoming a big part in the life of Australian workplaces, cover the categories in this year’s Awards,” Mr Forsyth said.
